Happiness Is"- Theme For Mingo Community Day
At a regular meeting last Fri-
day night, Parade chairwoman,
Mrs. Harold Dilworth revealed
that area residents will be treat-
ed to one of the largest parades
ever shown in the upper Ohio
Valley on Community Day at
Mingo, August 31. Seventeen
floats will be included in the
mile long parade.
After months of diligent planning
and organization, Mingo's
Community Day Committeemen
are in the final phase of prep-
aration for their annual extrava-
ganza.
Father Francis Brown of the
Annunciation Church of Mingo,
announced that all the churches
of Mingo will participate in the
stadium show with an organized
Inter-Faith presentation. He said
the program will be Litigurcal
Musical and there would be a
Homily by one of the clergy.
Mrs. Dilworth also reported
that the Stadium Program is set
and that the Flag Raising will be
done by the Junior Girl Scout
Troop 466, directed by Mrs. Fred
Antill.
Master of Ceremonies for the
show will be Tom Abernathy of
W*ST.V.
The Star Spangled Banner will
be played by the Mingo Hi Band,
directed by Eugene Carabetta,
the Mingo Jr. Band, directed by
George Bonamace. The Vi-Lar
Kadettes Baton and Drum Corps
of East Liverpool, The Weir High
Varsity Band, directed by Tyrone
W, Price.

reported that the Judges for the
Parade competition have been
chosen: Emerson V. Wood, Ex-
ecutive Manager of Steubenville
Chamber of Commerce, chairman
of the judges; William Bandini,
Trainmaster, Penn Central Rail-
road, Mingo Junction; Miss Pat-
ricia Rinaldo, District Editor,

Registration Available
At County Fair
If you expect to cast a vote in
the Presidential Election in
November, you must be a regis-
tered voter.
If you are not already on the
roll, you can put yourself there
during four days of the County
Fair, August 14th-17th.
Who can register? Any resident
of Jefferson County who is 21
years of age or older. First time
voter who will become 21 years
of age before next November 5th
will also be able to register.
Registeration days will be on
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and
Saturday during the fair. If you
are a registered voter, but have
moved from the address under
which you are registered, you
also may file a change of address
form with the registrars.
Meanwhile, you can register
at the County Board of Elections
and at various parts of the County
in September.

Convention Report From Jefferson County Delegation
Walter L. Myers, Republican
delegate, 18th Congressional
district, Oito, announced that the
Jefferson County Delegation to
the National Republican Conven-
tion arrived in Miami Beach,
Florida, Saturday, August 3rd, at
noon. The Jefferson County group
met at the Doral Beach Hotel with
various other Ohio delegates and
convention officials, including
Miss Martha C, Moore, National
C ommitteewoman from Ohio;
Mrs. Eloise Wingate, secretary
of Ohio Republican Headquarters;
Mrs. Martha Hahn, Ohio 7th Dis-
trict Delegate; and Mrs. Letha
Astray, former member of Ohio
State Central committee.
Hostesses in the Ohio Republi-
can headquarters at the Doral
Beach Hotel during convention
week include: Mrcs. Henry Barren,
Mrs. George Crim, Mrs. IdaMae
Dunle, Mrs. John Harris, Mrs.
Zola Hennebert, Mrs. Walter
Myers. Jr.. and Mrs. CurtisStil-
well, all from Jefferson County.
Some of the Jefferson County
Delegation participated in a con-
ducted tour of Miami beach.
Among the many points of inter-
est visited, stops were made at
the famous Fontainebleau Hotel,
National Headquarters for the
Republican Convention, the Hotel
Deauville, Hilton Hotel and the
Americana Hotel, where the 3
major candidates are staying.
Mrs. Henry Barren, Jefferson
County chairwoman was hostess
to the Jefferson County delega-
tion at the Doral Beach Hotel.

Wintersville Adds Six New Portable Classrooms
Six separate temporary classrooms will be connected to the Wintersville High School by canopy and
self-contained when school opens in the fall. These rooms will have a seating capacity of 30, air con-
ditioning, electric heating, and can be moved when necessary.
Contractor for the National Home Buildings (mobil rooms) is Imperial Equipment Company of Colum-
bus. Mellott Contractors built the foundations. These pre-fabricated constructed classrooms will be
ready when the school bell rings on Tuesday, September 3.
Junior Women's Society
Donates To Library Fund
Mrs. James Cerra, representing the Junior Women's Society of
Wintersville, is pictured above presenting a check for $50 to
Wintersville Mayor Anthony Petrozzi. The money will go toward
the Library Fund, which will be the Club's main project for
next year.
The new proposed library will need more donations from
W'mon's Clubs, organizations, or individuals in the area. Ground
has been selected for the building site, but funds are slow coming
in. The committee will need money before the 12th of August to
survive.
